Frequently Asked Questions

You can contact us on the informtion below to start the Junior Neighbourhood Support Programme at your school.
The (JNS) Junior Neighbourhood Support program is an initiative developed in partnership between Neighbourhood Support Auckland, Auckland City Police District School Community Services and the Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board.
JNS is designed to be delivered to primary school students aged 5-7 years old (Years 1-3). JNS has 5 focus areas to deliver on:
1. Showing Respect and Pride in yourself and to others
2. Prevention of bullying
3. Pride in your School, Home and Community
4. Care for the Environment
5. Developing an understanding of the different cultures that make up our community
JNS is a teacher-led program, with the values of JNS ultimately becoming entrenched in the school culture.
Students first learn about these focus areas within the school environment, and then later transfer this knowledge to their home and the wider community.
Teachers are encouraged to contribute to the development of this program via this feedback form , which can be completed at the end of each mission.
